Yoga Poses
There are eight different types of yoga styles and each contains different asanas or poses. Hatha yoga is a yoga technique translated to be a forceful yoga. It requires the most physical exercises of all the different types of yoga and thus uses many different yoga poses. Yoga poses in Hatha yoga has two objectives. The first one is the need to perform at least one posture where a yogi can be perfectly comfortable for a longer amount of time. The second is to open the nadis which are the channels of mind and being and gives health and energy to the body. Each yoga pose is then necessary to this graceful and elegant art. Yoga poses should not be taken as a form of exercise but rather as a way to unite your mind and body. Each pose has the purpose of stretching and releasing your mind as your body is also being stretched. It is not designed to flex your muscles but that can be considered as an added bonus. Warming-up Yoga Poses It is always recommended to do a warm-up exercise before actually doing an extensive physical work-out. In yoga, the main focus of doing a warm-up exercise is to prepare the shoulders and the neck for a yoga session. After doing these warm-up exercises, you can now begin with your regular yoga routines. Your instructor will let you do a sequence of poses for you to begin with. However, if you're doing your yoga at home, you can develop your own sequence. There are many basic asanas that you can choose from. The Corpse Pose also known as Savasana is one of the necessary relaxation poses. It may look like a simple relaxing pose but it requires a lot of concentration and is only developed through continues practice. This technique can be done in between or after an Asana. Sukhasana most commonly known as Easy Pose is a crossed-legged, seated position that is used for meditation. Sun Salutation or Surya Namaskar is another pose that helps improve flexibility and strength of the muscles and the spinal column. It also warms up and tones the muscles in the abdominal part of the body. There is also the Headstand (Shirshasana) and the Shoulder Stand (Sarvangasana) that helps build power in both neck and the upper back and trains your arm coordination. The plough Pose on the other hand stretches the neck and the lower back muscle. Chill and Be In Shape Relaxation is important in the field of yoga. It involves the coordination of both the body and mind. If you are having a hard time relaxing, you can try using the Corpse Pose to bring yourself into a state of calmness. Being tense during the execution of a yoga pose can only lead to harm so be sure to relax while performing it. Some breathing techniques should also be practiced during your yoga sessions. Breathe slowly at your own pace and you will feel the tension coming out from your body. Yoga is a form of art that allows you to set your own goals so be free to do what you desire.
