How is Sahaja Yoga Different?
Most of the yoga principles teach us that inner peace and self-realization are the ultimate goals in life. It is also considered as the result of several years of practice and following of exercise and beliefs. Not all yoga followers are guaranteed reach this result. Sahaja yoga differs from other yoga practices in an unusual way. You begin with the common way of achieving this state of realization and continue it through attention and meditation. Sahaja yoga really means "spontaneous union with one's self". This advocates becoming your own teacher. Meaning you will attain the state of self-realization or self-awareness by yourself rather than having a teacher to guide you through. By becoming your own guide and with the continues practice of the Sahaja yoga principles you can continue living your normal life with friends and families. This helps in your continues and fast growth spiritually but without penance that are usually prescribed by traditional religions. What Sahaja Yoga Really is? As mentioned a while ago, Sahaja yoga means "spontaneous union with one's self". Sahaja translates as spontaneous while yoga compromises the remaining parts of the translation. The spontaneous part gives the impression that little or no effort is used in this form of yoga. This is actually true for Sahaja yoga followers, there is not much required to follow in this form of self-awareness. This is exactly what you will notice on practitioners of Sahaja yoga. Not much is required to attain the state of self-realization through Sahaja yoga. Some may be required to have simple, honest desire to attain inner peace. You must wish for it, meditate for it then achieve it. If you have reached these goals, the next thing to do is to maintain it in the years to come. This sounds great, isn't it? Just bear in mind that self-realization is only the first step and is only a small part of the process. You may be misled or you may forget what you are really aiming for and lose the things you worked for. Kundalini In sahaja yoga, the self-realization process involves the awakening of a spiritual energy within us. This energy lays dormant in the sacrum bone located at the base of our spine. This energy is known as kundalini, it is known to cure sickness, improve health and release you from the stress of life. It is manifested as a realization travelling up through the spine and central nervous system. It will then pierces through the six chakras and emerge from the head. Practitioners are encouraged to fill the top of their head to fill for a cool and soft breeze. The presence of the breeze signifies that the practitioner has attained self-realization. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi is the one that has devised the Sahaja yoga. The goal for its creation is to allow individuals to be their own spiritual guide. Its principle was built on the belief that in order to know the truth you first know your spirit. Sahaja yoga may bizarre but its offers ways to know your spirit.
