Light Yoga to Lighten Up Your Life
Anyone will agree to the age-old saying, "health is wealth". By having a well-balanced diet and a good amount of exercise, we can keep our bodies in tip-top shape and keep up with the fast paced lives we live today. However, there are times when life itself is hard enough to keep up to. Some may not be fit or even be recommended to under go any further physical training because of the person's age or physical conditions caused by either some disease or injury, or by natural effects of aging itself. This shouldn't be a hindrance for such people to engage in light yoga exercises. The ancient practice of yoga hailed from the deep and rich roots of India, where men have high belief in the direct relation between the body, the mind and the spirit. Through meditation, they have come to control their state of mind, and in turn, the body itself, and connect to one's spirituality. Many yoga disciplines have been derived since ancient times. Some overly advanced and complex that only through years of practice that one can attain expertise and perfection. There are also some light yoga exercises that have been designed and practiced for those who are not willing to go fulltime. Such exercises are helpful to those who are not meant to undergo great physical stress that most normal exercises implore. As light yoga is part of a serious discipline, it is important to practice it with the help of a qualified instructor, or a genuine yoga program. One may want to invite friends to a group session or yoga class. Never engage in an activity if you are not sure of how to do it correctly to avoid injuries. Light yoga offers minimal or almost no physical stress. This is why the exercise is best suited to those with physical impairments or restrictions, including those of old age and pregnant women. Yoga practicing has no age limit. Meditation is a key activity in yoga. It helps you connect your mind with your body. Yoga can improve the weakened muscles of the old. It can help pregnant women cope with the constant stress of child bearing. More importantly, yoga can help prepare a mother physically and mentally on the time of labor. It is a great help for those injured or handicapped by a disease. Light and relaxed movements and breathing exercises can greatly improve blood flow and overall metabolism, which can eventually restore mobility to patients in some cases. The simplicity of light yoga makes it a good choice for beginners. It can help improve overall fitness without taking too much of your time or money. It will normally take about half an hour each day to finish a session. The exercise need not to be done daily, but at least thrice within a week can give a noticeable result. Exercise programs can be found in books and videos such as DVDs. It is important to adhere to a specific program so that the results would be relevant. Advanced yoga techniques can be easily trained after going through the basics.
